Call to Teachers Everywhere: How to Fund Your Class Bike Blender

Attention educators everywhere:

The Juice Peddler has stumbled upon a very exciting way for teachers in private/public/after school programs to afford a bike blender to teach their students about energy alternatives. BP (British Petroleum) is accepting applications (due March 23rd) for between $5,000 and $10,000 for programs educating students on energy alternatives. Why is the bike blender great? Because it opens up the dialogue about alternative energy through a physical experience, one that teaches that bikes are fun and efficeint, that good food is the foundation for good health, both personally and globally.

What's even more exciting is that The Juice Peddler, along with Rock the Bike, are readying to launch a series of human power generation tools both compatible with the B3 and distinct from it, which you would be able to purchase for your classroom.

Imagine powering your overhead projector, a computer, a TV, charge cell phones, power tools and more all with the power of one kid on one bike! What could happen if there were 10 kids at work? Talk about inspiring!

Ultimately, our mission is to get more people riding more bikes for more reasons. Riding a bike when you would otherwise drive a car is the single most effective way you can contribute to limiting greenhouse gas emmissions.

Check out the latest video which features some of our human powered prototyping footage here or see post below.

Check out the grant application here. Tell every teacher you know! It's time to empower our young people to create the future of their dreams!

The Juice Peddler will be happy to assist you in crafting language to help secure a donation for your own bike blender.
