Bike Blender on MTV!

Well folks, it's happened. The bike blender has now made its first appearance on MTV. As a part of Kipchoge's (Xtracycle founder) bid to spread Xtracycle culture through procuring his own MTV Reality TV show, the B3 takes stage as the quintessential eco-accesory to the sustainable lifestyle.

Check out MTV's broadcast of The Reality Show

Note: Scroll to the bottom of the page where you can see a link to "The Reality Show: Ep 1" (you must have the Windows Media Player on a PC to view the video). Of note: Fossil Fool debuts the bike blender rap. Check out what Fossil Fool's up to at www.fossilfool.com.

A chance to spend your money well...

From the owner of Medicine Eatstation in SF:

A friend of mine dropped your card on my desk today. I checked out your website and wanted to tell you that I think what you're doing is righteous and good. It made me smile to read your explanation of the $99 stand in the FAQ section. Well built, fine. But in my mind, you're actually selling a values opportunity. You're offering someone a chance to spend their money well. That's so damn rare these days.

If this is true, we're in the same business. We just opened Medicine New-Shojin Eatstation in downtown SF. A little wacky, a little fringe-y. We're a fast-casual lunch room based on the cuisine of zen buddhist monks in Japan. Well built, sure. But we're selling an opportunity to spend your money wisely too.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I LOVE the bike blender concept.

Election Cycle

From Craig Kelley, B3 customer and running for City Council in Cambridge, MA

My bicycle blender is a HUGE hit. Mounted to what is now known as the "Election Cycle" in honor of my City Council campaign (www.CraigKelley.org), it is really impressing people as an innovative way to get things done. Blending like a fool and loving it. My kids really like the results."

Excerpt from Boston Globe article from Sept. 18th:

"I grab any opportunity to get people to think outside the block," says Kelley, an environmental consultant from North Cambridge.

Then there's the blender, which he also attaches to the back of his bike and uses to make blended drinks by spinning his wheels. He offers a beverage du jour to people who pass his campaign office.

It's all part of his way of projecting his environmentalism -- and the idea that cars aren't the only way to get around Cambridge. ''It's just another example that there are solutions to Cambridge's transportation and air problems," he says.

A note from Oilcan, Albuquerque B3 owner:

Nate, just pulled out the bike blender at the 'Shop and Stroll' on old rte 66, we made ~70 bucks 4 people in 3 hrs (not-for-profit).

Anyway, we raised serious amounts of fun, including having the humane association dog pose on the bike blender.

Hilarious.
